Founded in 1868, not much has changed here on the western edge of the Bekaa Valley since. Today Faouzi Issa makes this from Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan aged the estate's original, 150 year-old, concrete tanks to capture fresh red fruit and wild Mediterranean herb and olive aromas and flavors and retain a bit of fine-grained grip.  Hard to imagine a better match for grilled lamb or anything with plenty of savory, herby, character.

For You If:  You’re interested in exploring “Old World” wines that aren’t from Europe; you like a savory edge to your fresh red fruit flavors; you’re after something a little wild and natural in feel.

Not For You If:  You want lots of fruit and oaky spice; you’re looking for something polished and smooth – there’s some grip here, not harsh, but present.
