Lower ABV It takes a little extra work to make crisp, light, refreshing rosé in the sunny Languedoc region. Starting with picking the right grapes, including crisp, mouthwatering, Cinsault for freshness and richer Syrah for structure and depth. Picking the grapes cold at night and pressing off after just a few hours of skin contact gives lovely color and a spicy tart cherry fruit with a dollop of crunchy watermelon on the juicy, dry, finish. Fun stuff.
For You If: You’re after a crisp, light, easy-drinking rosé with enough fruit to enjoy solo and a crisp, dry, finish.
Not For You If: You’re looking for the ripe stone fruit many Provencal pinks delivery or masses of complexity – this straight-ahead fun.
