Lower ABV From 35 year-old vines in and just outside of Chorey-les-Beaune, this is just exactly what good Bourgogne Rouge should be with just one touch of something extra special from the rich 2022 vintage. Ripe and fruit-filled aromas of cherry and raspberry, spice and underbrush pull you into a nicely full, well delineated, palate of excellent richness and purity. Delicious now for the fruit and spice and gaining a bit more forest floor complexity over the next few years.
For You If: You're looking for a remarkable red Burgundy value to enjoy now for the fruit or with time as it picks up earthier elements.
Not For You If: You're after the super-firm grip of Pommard or NSG - this has plenty of power but in a more supple form.
