Lower ABV La terre parle” – the earth speaks. That’s what Francois Peycharud of Bandol’s Dom Tempier said after tasting Steve Edmonds’s wines and what you’ll say too. Here the “earth” is Shake Ridge Ranch in the Sierra Foothills and the voice is Grenache and Mouvedre with a bit of Tempranillo and Graciano. The dusky, earthy, notes don’t obscure the delicious dark cherry and plum fruit. Seamless, vivid - “La terre parle.
For You If: You love Rhone wine flavors and want to enjoy them in a wine built for drinking vs tasting; you think a wine that tastes like crushed gravel and tangy, early season, fruit with a whiff of earth sounds pretty much perfect.
Not For You If: You're all about the big fruit and big body of wines like 16% Chateauneuf du Pape - this has that kind of character and impact, but does it with the volume turned down enough to hear yourself enjoying the wine!
