For You If: You like oak-spiced Rioja with a strong core of dark, dusky, fruit; you’re looking for a steak or lamb wine with less juicy fruit than Cabernet Sauvignon and more fruit than Bordeaux.
Not For You If: You don’t like the aromas and flavors of French oak – it’s pretty integral to what Rioja is all about; you want something smooth and built for solo sipping – this is firm and wants food.
