At the western edge of the St Aubin hills, Pucelles is too flat to be 1er Cru but has a perfect S/SW exposure to generate plenty of ripeness even in 2021. This has the vibrancy and lightness of the vintage but with very ripe flavors of stone fruits, yellow apples and sweet hazelnut with a just-right kiss of cultured butter. Open enough to drink on its own, it will shine more brightly still with shrimp or scallops or even just a nice piece of grilled chicken.
For You If: You're looking for classic Burgundy Chardonnay flavors that flow easily and gently across your palate; you want a wine that complements your food more than drawing attention to itself.
Not For You If: You're after a "statement wine" - this is more of a very talented piece of the larger orchestra of your evening or meal.
