Organic/Bio It does not get more Mediterranean influence than a wine that comes from an island in the middle of it. Paros is a boat’s ride away from Santorini and also makes wonderful Assyrtikos. Moraitis Winery is a great example of this. You can find them in the local fishing port of Naoussa where their approach is playful with craftsmanship.
Their 2021 Assyrtiko from their single vineyard site located in Cyclades PDO, captures the island spirit. Rather than the lemon character taking center stage, the wine kicks off with a great expression of papaya and almond accented with lime. It has a wonderful gravel minerality that adds that extra bit of complexity to the aromatic profile and delivers concentration and intrigue on the palate. A very dynamic Assyrtiko for sure.
