The Steininger family is passionate about sparkling wine, so much so that they'll take some of the finest fruit from Kamptal's finest Riesling vineyard and give it bubbles! That's after aging the wine six-months in large, acacia, wood casks, and giving it extra time on the lees for more refinement and grace. Falstaff, Austria's top wine review, awarded it 95 points and describes it well: "On the palate, the wine reveals good complexity and liveliness, with layers of flavors that unfold gracefully. The acidity is vibrant and multi-faceted, contributing to a dynamic and engaging mouthfeel. Delicate notes of passion fruit and bergamot emerge on the finish, adding an exotic twist to the wine's profile. The wine's finish is notable for its length and persistence, with flavors that linger on the palate long after the last sip.
For You If: You're in the mood for sophistated, complex, sparking wine and ready to reach beyond Champagne for a graceful, delicious, treat; you enjoy the snap and minerality of excellent dry Riesling and want to try it with a bit of extra lift.
Not For You If: You’re after the toasty notes and austerity of “real” Champagne – this highlights the varietal flavors of Riesling rather than the autolytic flavors of winemaking.
