Lower ABV Ok, the bottle: it’s a love it or hate it kind of thing. But the wine is 100% a “love it” wine blending Grenache and Cinsault from the hills looking down at Montpellier and the sea. Picked at 2am and pressed gently, has a pale onion-skin pink with subtle aromas of ripe peach, strawberry and jasmine. The flavors are more intense, retaining an elegant feel, with dark cherry, strawberry and tangerine citrus flavors supported by snappy acids and dusty minerality. Very long and pure through the silky, dry, refreshing, finish. It’s every bit as classy and stylish as the bottle (or more so, depending on how you look at the admittedly VERY strange bottle).
For You If: You’re after the purity, minerality and complexity of the very top Provençal rosés at the price they used to sell for before anyone believed you could ask $40 for a bottle of rosé (looking at you, Dom Ott).
Not For You If: You just can’t get past a frosted glass bottle that’s flat on one side; the package is either beautiful or weird depending on taste, but the wine’s first rate.
