The perfect blend of rich texture, complex and delicious flavors, and incisive fresh acidity to keep the party in your mouth rolling on through a long, dry, finish. On the Provencal Mediterranean coast, Bandol is really all about powerful, earthy, Mourvedre reds and red-wine-like rose. Whites are rare, but this blend of Clairette, Rolle (Vermentino) and Ugni Blanc (Trebbiano) delivers so much juicy stone fruit, floral and sliced almond, and earthy crushed rock flavors that we wish there was more to have! The texture and complexity make it an outstanding match for rich dishes of seafood, poultry and mushrooms - risotto would be perfect.
For You If: You enjoy whites with lots of texture and intense flavors that don't also grip with tannin or show any sweetness or heat; you want something that does the job of Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc with more freshness and a lower price tag.
Not For You If: You're after something light/crisp or marked with oaky flavors - this isn't heavy, but it is full bodied and done all in steel to keep the fruit and earth flavors pure.
