The Gitton family got into the Sancerre business in 1945, back when making a wine living in the Loire meant driving your bottles into Paris and selling direct to bistros. They're bigger now, but just as traditional in how they do wine. Although this is from the rich 2022 harvest, the Hauterivian limestone soils bring freshness and it fairly sizzles with energy, crunchy green orchard and citrus fruit, and salty stone minerality. Pretty brilliant, actually.
For You If: You like Sancerre with bite and crunchy minerality balanced by a just right burst of citrus and stone fruit.
Not For You If: You're looking for something that's soft or wildly fruity - this is classic stony Sancerre.
