Organic/Bio Named for Catherine Faller’s father (who passed away young and left Catherine, her sister and mother with the estate), this comes from the slices of the family’s home Clos des Capucins vineyard where sand mixes with granite pebbles. This is bone dry, salty and almost lythe for Alsace (13.1%) and bursting with stone fruit, citrus, and salty seashell flavors. Taut, focused, and juicy, it flows with a wild balance of lightness and intensity. Compelling.
For You If: You’re after an extremely food friendly dry Riesling for simply prepared seafood, summery salads, and Vietnamese food (really!). You care more about flavor and complexity than throw weight.
Not For You If: You prefer your whites to sit with weighty authority on your palate and/or show some thickness around the middle; you want the kind of super-vivid fruit Sauvignon Blanc brings; you like your Riesling sweet.
