Lower ABV A deeply fruited Pinot that invites solo sipping and has the minerality and structure to shine with salmon, mushrooms and roasted birds. It’s mostly Chehalem Mountain fruit with around 25% from Ribbon Ridge and shows the characteristic spice and dark earthiness of the former and the brilliant fruit and glide of the latter. As James Suckling says in his 92 point review, “"An attractive nose with ripe raspberries and cherries as well as chocolate orange, hints of cloves and licorice. Juicy and smooth with a medium body and some savory nuances to the fruit. Agile and vivid.” All at just 12.9% alcohol!
For You If: Frankly, if you like Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, you’re going to enjoy this – the blend of fruit, energy, structure and minerality is pretty classic.
Not For You If: You’re looking for the flesh of California-style Pinot – even if from Oregon – or the taught acids and low-ripeness fruit of super-cool sites here or in Burgundy – this delivers the richness of Oregon’s summer warmth with just right balance and verve.
