A rugged site can give a rugged wine. Here "rugged" may be overstaement, but this is Pinot with plenty of grip and savory complexity. As Wine Enthusiast says in their 95 point review, "Earthy aromas of mushroom and soy give an umami-laden edge to the cassis and dark fruits on the nose of this bottling. The palate is loaded with savory tones as well, showing dashi, shiitake and incense, as well as that tart raspberry-fruit flavor."

For You If:   You're after a powerful Pinot that's about more than just fruit; you're looking for Pinot to pair with savory meat and/or mushroom dishes.

Not For You If:   You're after simple sipping Pinot or something "easy" to serve solo - this is intense and will shine most brightly at table with food.
