Same silky-delicious Garnacha Las Uvas De La Ira from Gredos Daniel Landi made for years, now from his partnership with Curro Bareño. You smell the hot and powdery Gredos dirt right through the rich raspberry fruit. The Gredos signature blend of big body and somehow weightless mouthfeel is here, as is the spiced raspberry and red cherry fruit and another dollop of earth on the palate. Finishes with generous sweet fruit and a firm, powdered granite, grip that invites pairing with grilled lamb, beef, mushrooms, etc. A big wine that’s very light on its feet and a joy to drink.
For You If: You’re quick – we only have three cases of this kind of cult classic that staff have a tendency to take home before customers can get theirs.
Not For You If: You don’t appreciate an earthy, spicy, edge to your rich Grenache fruit; you’re looking for the weighty feel of Grenache from Chateauneuf du Pape or elsewhere in Spain – Gredos has all the ripeness and volume of those wines, but feels less thick and more transparent.
