Champagne Paul Bara has been creating fine Champagne in the Grand Cru village of Bouzy for around 170 years and the Bara family remains at the helm today. Bouzy’s glorious sun exposure and limestone-heavy soils give Pinot Noir-based Champagnes of bold ripeness and red fruit richness balanced by excellent cut and salinity (20% Chardonnay in the blend helps, too!). Very long and lightly toasty and easy to drink.
For You If: You like broad, generous, Champagne with plenty of red fruit, honey, spice and orange peel flavors that finishes crisp and mineral and dry.
Not For You If: You’re after the more intense toasty notes barrel brings or the sharp snap of ultra-low dosage Champagne – this is dry and generous.
