Lower ABV Another outstanding vintage for of Austria's most talented (and awarded) young winemakers. It's from the plains east of the Danube where pretty much constant winds give Gruner an extra jolt of freshness and citric energy and bite. As Jeb Dunnuck said in his 91 point review, "Bright citrus, crushed stone, mint, lime zest, and some subtly reductive, flinty notes all shine in this beauty, with a bright, lively mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and a great finish."
For You If: You enjoy both Gruner and Sauvignon Blanc, because you’ll find some citrus here with a touch of Gruner’s white pepper; you like your whites exuberant vs reserved; you enjoy wines the feel sleek, almost steely.
Not For You If: You want big flavors matched by big volume – this is trim and focused at 13.0%; you don’t like even moderate, ripe, citrus flavors; you want oak spice.
