What a value from just outside Saint Emilion! It’s a big, rich, wine that is coming into its own with bright red plum and dark berry fruit and plenty of smoke, licorice and wild herb notes for complexity.  Around 12% Cabernet Sauvignon gives the Merlot a nice grip. As Wine Enthusiast said in the 90 point review, “This rich Merlot wine comes from an estate created in the 15th century. Structure is embedded in the opulent black fruits and acidity. The wine will age well, giving elegance as it matures.”

For You If:  You’re looking for Bordeaux complexity and style with an extra dose of rich texture and fruit.

Not For You If:  You’re after elegance – this is a bit rambunctious but delicious!
