One of the finest values in the shop, this is “the black wine” of Cahors at its most friendly and fun-loving. Around 85% Malbec and 15% Merlot given 18 months in concrete, it’s loaded with juicy black cherry, blackberry and plum fruit balanced by savory olive, hot stone and earth notes. Spicy, tangy and just grippy enough for shape, it shines now with a huge range of foods and can even take a chill for solo sipping. A terrific value in handcrafted, authentic, delicious all-purpose red.
For You If: You enjoy the very best of good value Cotes du Rhone and Bordeaux – this doesn’t taste like either, but does the same job they do in providing affordable daily drinking delight.
Not For You If: You’re looking for gobs of fruit or super-intense tannic grip – this delivers pretty and fresh fruit balanced by gentle, even refreshing, grip.
