Lower ABV South Africa's signature white, Chenin Blanc, is often made at scale and in a hurry - from machine-harvested vine to bottle in just a matter of weeks. At False Bay, they take it "Slow". Fruit is harvested by hand and allowed to ferment at its own pace and rest on the lees to gain texture and complexity. And "texture" is the story here in a wine that feels both creamy and zippy and tastes and finishes very, very, long. Citrus and orchard fruits get complexity from notes of honeysuckle and almond, making the whole thing highly drinkable and delicious. A lot of wine for the money here.
