The Vaca family is best known for helping to found Produttori del Barbaresco, and that's where Renato Vaca learned to make wine before starting his own estate in 1997. After his untimely death, his wife and family continue to deliver some of the most beautifully drinkable wines in Barbaresco.
This is all Barbaresco fruit, mostly from Ovello Cru, that delivers the estate's signature blend of richness and elegance. As Vinous says, it's "a pretty, easygoing wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. There's a lovely mid-palate richness to the forward fruit. Most of this fruit is from Ovello, which comes through in floral, savory and mineral nuances that open on the finish."
