Organic/Bio Simply the finest Cremant de Bourgogne we’ve ever tasted – perhaps mainly because it’s one of the very, very, few where the winegrower makes both the base wine and sparkling final product in their own cellar. Located in the Cote Chalonnaise not far from Givry, the estate has been farmed organically since its formation in 1978, serves as a bird sanctuary (more than 50 bird houses around the vines), tills the soils with mechanical and hand pick-axes, and makes very, very good wine!
This blends 50% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and 10% Aligote, is hand riddled (the entire vineyard team meets for coffee in the cellar and riddles while they prepare for the day ahead) and spends 12 months on the lees. The aromas and flavors of brioche, pear, stone fruit and spice are wonderfully fresh and generous through the dry, toast/yeast-filled finish. A mouthwatering, satisfying, delight.
