A whole lot of rich, deeply flavored, wine from 100+ year-old vines for the money here. It’s a 60/40 Cabernet Sauvignon/Malbec blend picked ripe and aged in French oak and showing the luxurious texture you’d expect from a wine Paul Hobbs had a hand in.  Dark blackberry and blackcurrant fruit picks up complexity from accents of cocoa powder, sweet spice and cured tobacco. Long and fine on the steak-friendly finish.

For You If:  You’re a fan of Mendoza Malbec or Napa Cabernet and are looking for something in that family with a bit of a twist and a terrific price.

Not For You If:   You’re looking for something either super-light or thick/fat – this walks the medium-bodied line with style.
